In 1998 I had a podiatrist friend ask me to come in and see if I could help him clean up his billing. After helping for a year, the doctor’s reimbursements increased by $100,000. Realizing that countless other podiatry offices were struggling with the same issues. I decided to start SMB Medical™ Billing, along with my sister-in-law, Cheryl Sands. What we have found is podiatry is its own unique beast. With 2 feet and 10 toes, the complex billing that is required and in-depth knowledge our team has learned is a great tool for podiatrists. We don’t roll over for insurance companies when they don’t pay, try to bundle codes, etc., we take this personally. We fight for every penny that is owed to you.
I am blessed to have two sons with my wife of nearly 32 years. We enjoy traveling and seeing new places.

Glen and I started the company in 2001. We have strived from the beginning to be a company that works hard on the front end of the claim process and to have excellent follow-up until the claim is paid. Since we have been doing this for over 20 years and deal with Practices all over the country, we really have a handle on current trends, billing issues and know how to solve problems quickly. We are often the ones that alert insurance companies that they have a system error causing incorrect denials since we know the rules and what should be paid. My husband (Greg} and I have two married daughters. We are looking forward to becoming first-time grandparents in August 2022! When I get a chance to get away, I always choose the beach. I often say I am a Missouri girl with a Florida heart. I love working at SMB because I get to interact with doctors and staff from all over the country!

I enjoy helping our doctors with reports, system questions, and handling any challenge that comes my way. I’ve been with SMB since August 2008 and have loved being a part of such an amazing company. I’m proud to be a part of a company that has such dedication to making sure every account is handled with the utmost care. I have 3 boys ages 27, 24 & 17. When I’m not working you can find me near any body of water that I can get to! The lake and the beach are my happy places!
Customer Service Manager
I wear a few hats at SMB such as Customer Service Manager, Delinquent Patient Accounts Manager, and HR Liaison. I have been with SMB since January 2004 and have enjoyed watching our company grow and continue to excel over time. I truly do like people so customer service is a really good fit for me and we get a few funny stories talking to our patients from coast to coast. My husband and I just celebrated our 31st anniversary and we have twin sons turning 30 in September (yes I am oooold), two twin granddaughters (yes two sets of twins, don’t drink the water at my house), 3 grandsons, and one 23-month-old granddaughter – we love being Gigi and Papa to these littles and they definitely keep us busy.
New Accounts Manager/ EDI Enrollment Specialist
I have been with SMB for 7 years and am the point of contact when we sign a new office. My goal is to help make the transition of billing work smoothly for both the offices and our billers. I work behind the scenes to make sure we can submit claims and have EOBs returned electronically for all commercial and government payers. Finally, I am a resource for contracting/credentialing questions. Hiring a new doc? I can help get you on the right track! EFT/ERA Questions? I’m your person! My husband, David, and I live in Parkville, MO, and keep busy chasing our toddler around. We also have two fur babies – Rockie (border collie) and Lois Lane (farm cat). In our free time, we enjoy working on projects around our home and keeping up with our local sports teams! We are raising our daughter, Harper, to be a loyal Royals and Chiefs fan. I’m also trying to make her a Missouri Tiger, but my Wisconsin husband has other ideas. Life is busy, but it’s fun, and we try to spend it together.

I have been with SMB since March 2009. I train new employees and notify/help them with changes implemented by insurances regarding billing/payment. I also do the annual HIPAA training. I help cover the workloads of those that take a vacation throughout the year as well. I have been married to my husband for 25+ years and we have 2 adult children. When not working we enjoy going to Lake and being on the boat. We also enjoy taking our RV camping and riding ATVs through the trails.
